Wasp Repellent mimics an enemy nest. Wasps seem to avoid the area where the Waspinator is displayed, intimidated by what they think is an actual nest."Many social wasp species are aggressive and will defend a territory around their nests. The size of the territory will vary depending on the species and the size of the colony. Some paper wasps species will respond to movement 20 feet away. If a member of another wasp colony approaches that wasp will be chased away." +Laura Jesse Iowa State University Extension

Take the Waspinator out of the packaging and puff out the sides. This can easily be done by putting your hand inside the Waspinator and pushing the sides out. Once the Waspinator is as large as you can make it, take the plastic toggle and push it along the drawstring to tightly secure at the base of the Waspinator. Tuck the drawstring inside the Waspinator. Next, find a suitable location to hang it. Hang the Wasp Repellent from the loop at the top, NOT from the drawstring at the bottom. The Waspinator should hang close to your eating area in a likely location of a real wasps nest. For example, from your table umbrella, the eaves of your home, against a wall, up on a tree, or up in a corner. Once the Wasp Repellent has been hung up, wait 10-15 minutes. You should see a decrease in the number of annoying wasps. If you have a particularly bad wasp problem, try using more than one Waspinator. If you see a decrease in the effectiveness of the Waspinator, move it to a different location around your outdoor eating area.
